3D printed Christmas decorations: ideas for a coordinated festive style
Share
It is easier to put together matching Christmas decorations if you choose two or three colours and a few shapes first. With 3D printing, the same pattern can be made in different sizes for tree ornaments or gift tags.
Start with two colours
White and deep blue make a crisp winter pairing. Warm white with a natural ribbon is more understated, while dark green can suit natural branches. Once you have two main colours, it is easier to choose shapes that work together on both the tree and table.
Finish matters as much as shade. Matte pieces feel calmer; glossy or silk material highlights ribbed shapes. Agree the exact colour and available material before ordering.
Four ideas to get you started
- Geometric snowflakes. They can form a coordinated series in several sizes. Consider durability if the branches are very thin.
- Ribbed hanging ornaments. They look striking even in a simple colour, because light and shadow define their surface.
- Small tabletop trees. Two or three pieces at different heights can work in a small space: a shelf, hallway tray or festive table.
- Gift-tag ornaments. A small star or winter motif tied to a ribbon can be kept after the gift is opened.
Choose a size to suit its location
An ornament that looks good in your hand may look too large on a tree. Measure the space and consider how it will hang. A flat snowflake behaves differently from a three-dimensional bauble: weight, proportions and required clearance differ.
A series does not need every piece to be identical. The same two shapes in three sizes can work well. Specify quantities and sizes together, because a shared production layout can affect the price.
What if you have already chosen a model?

Timing is part of a festive gift too
If it is a gift, include your desired date in your first message. Production and delivery take separate amounts of time; only plan around guaranteed arrival before the holiday when the deadline has been confirmed.

Photograph three or four completed ornaments from your own Christmas collection under consistent lighting, with a fir branch or wrapped gift.
